ended in two crashes, hospitalized bicyclist. terry mcsweeney joins us live from the mission district with new information. >> reporter: new information from the chp and new information from city workers. looks like it is not going to be until noon before the lights go back on at 17th and south van ness that is going to be a problem, nobody is out here directing traffic. they've flares out now, i've seen people come through at 30 miles an hour, reason that we have in problem is because the signal box got knocked over at the end of an incident that began 2:00 this morning on the on-ramp to i-80 at 4th street. next, according to the chp that on-ramp was closed that got their attention so did the speeding, weaving, as you look at these picture the incident took five minutes, the jeep that they were chasing up to speeds of 55 miles per hour, slammed into a car which hit a bicyclist. chp not sure if the bicyclist was on the bike or walking the bike, that bicyclist was taken to the hospital, checked out, minor injuries, probably released by now. now take a look at where ended where i am a s
police, swat police ended a standoff with a wanted man by using flash bang grenades. there you see windows were shattered at this home near holly park. the standoff involved the suspect accused of injuring a police officer by ramming a patrol car during a chase yesterday afternoon. police lost track of that man until someone called the police hours later. >> later that evening at about 8:30 p.m., police got a tip that the same suspect was in a residence on the 100 block of appleton. >> the standoff started about 10:45 and there you see police arrested the man. he had spent time in federal prison and has connections to gangs in san francisco. >>> san jose police were called out to a fire at a home where marijuana plants were found growing inside. the police did not issue any citations because they sate person at the home had a medical marijuana card and was growing the marijuana legally. he had about five or six plant that were found in the garage. it was a small fire. it did burn part of the garage though. firefighters were able to put it out and nobody was hurt. >> problems wit

killed in the south bay will be laid to rest today. matt keller joining us live with more on the service and the update on the investigation there to the case. >> reporter: yeah. i checked in with the san jose police department spokesperson for the update on this case. they are still search for a second suspect or at least that's what was happening all this week as they released a sketch on that expect now hee mailed me back and said per the homicide unit we aren't confirming or denying any new information. that came after i asked them if an arrest had been made. >> the man was shot and killed last week. one of the suspects a 26-year- old was in court wednesday. police say he and another man robbed four businesses, murdered a 22-year-old in a carjacking and participated in a shoot out with two officers one of the officers was hit and taken to the hospital with minor injuries. willbanks was arrested the next morning. officers released a sketch of the second suspect, a 20,000- dollar reward is being offered for his arrest. the funeral for the victim is being held this morning at 11. we wi

's move to grant himself sweeping powers. cbs reporter tara mergener tells us, at the same time, a shooting incident on the gaza- israel border has not caused a break in that fragile cease- fire. >> reporter: palestinians matched marched through the streets to bury a man shot on friday. he died when israeli troops opened fire on the gaza border. the israeli military says about 300 palestinians tried to breach the security fence at different points. so far, the incident hasn't compromised the two-day old cease-fire between israel and hamas. it was a common seen on gaza and egypt where two crossings are opened again. they closed when the fighting broke out. now palestinians can once again travel to egypt. egypt's president earned high praise from the u.s. for leading cease-fire negotiations. but now he is facing a backlash from his own people for trying to expand his powers. [ non-english language ] >> reporter: the egyptian president's spokesman announced on television that the president and his parliament would be exempt from legal challenges until a new constitution is written.
